Get to know Tamika Thornton-Hill the heart and vision behind H.O.P.E. of Arizona
Founder and CEO Tamika Thornton-Hill is a passionate community advocate, mental health specialist, and the visionary behind H.O.P.E. of Arizona. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Tamika’s journey began at Cascade Elementary and continued through Banneker High School.
In 2007, she relocated to Arizona to pursue higher education at Glendale Community College, where she earned two degrees in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement along with the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A) in General Studies.
Tamika’s professional journey led her to the Phoenix Job Corps Center as a Residential Advisor, where her love for helping others flourished. It was there that she discovered her true calling—supporting underserved individuals and guiding them toward purpose and success.
With more than 14 years in the behavioral health field, Tamika currently works as a Behavioral Interventionist Special Analyst (BISA), providing life-changing support to individuals navigating mental health and behavioral challenges. Her expertise and compassion laid the foundation for the birth of H.O.P.E. of Arizona.
Service & Purpose
Tamika’s story is rooted in a lifelong commitment to service, advocacy, and empowerment. Her work in the behavioral health field, combined with over 300 hours of community service, ignited a deeper mission: to serve those who are often unseen, unheard, and unsupported.
Through her volunteer efforts at St. Mary’s Food Bank, Sunnyslope Feed the Homeless, Youth Foundation’s team-building pottery classes, and the Mud Girl Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Tamika not only gave her time—she gave her heart. She also played a vital role in fundraising for these and other organizations to support their ongoing community impact.
In 2024, Tamika founded H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Evolve) of Arizona, a nonprofit built on compassion, equity, and empowerment. The organization was born from her desire to be a voice and advocate for those who are overlooked due to their circumstances, appearance, or background.
“H.O.P.E. of Arizona became a voice for the voiceless—a bridge to opportunity, purpose, and confidence.”
As Founder and CEO, Tamika’s mission is clear: to change and save lives by offering supportive services that empower people from all walks of life to overcome hardships and build brighter futures.
Her commitment is unwavering. Her vision is powerful. Her work is just beginning.
